M113 AS4
M113AS4 Armoured Personnel Carriers advance to their objective during Exercise Chong Ju. Mid Caption: The roar of the venerable RAAF F-111 was heard in the Goulburn valley for one of the last times this week (12-13 May 10). Two of the Amberley- based aircraft supported the Army’s firepower and manoeuvre demonstration at Puckapunyal Military Area, called EXERCISE CHONG JU. EX CHONG JU is named after a series of offensive actions by the 3rd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) on 29 October 1950 against North Koreans, during which infantry company advances were supported by US Army tanks and artillery.
