LARC

LARC

An Australian Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo (LARC) transports the Fijian Army to Canala Bay from HMAS Tobruk. Exercise Croix Du Sud (CDS) is a multi-national exercise that takes place bi-annually in New Caledonia. CDS enables nations to develop and exercise their humanitarian and peacekeeping capabilities. Units participating in CDS 2006 include Defence Forces from Australia, France, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Vanuatu and Fiji. (Photo: Australia DoD)

An Army Lighter, Amphibious Resupply Cargo (LARC) lands on the beach during Minor War Vessel Fleet Concentration Period. The Royal Australian Navy's Heavy Landing Craft (LCH) have proven their worth in a major exercise conducted in the Northern Territory. The LCHs successfully landed and extracted army assets from Dundee Beach, Southwest of Darwin, as part of the Minor War Vessel Fleet Concentration Period which focused heavily on interoperability between the two services.
